Pick-up at 8:30 a.m. and drive over the Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260 m) through the High Atlas, stopping at the UNESCO kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. After lunch, visit the Atlas Film Studios and Taourirt Kasbah in Ouarzazate.
Continue through the Skoura palm grove and the Valley of Roses along the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs to the Dades Valley for dinner and an overnight stay.
Drive to the Todra Gorge, with canyon walls up to 300 m, then continue via Tinejdad and Erfoud to Merzouga.
Ride a camel about 1.5 hours into the Erg Chebbi dunes for sunset and optional sandboarding, then reach camp for mint tea, dinner, Berber music and an overnight stay under the stars.
Watch sunrise over the dunes, then return by camel or 4×4 for breakfast. Travel back through pre-desert landscapes and the Draa Valley, Morocco’s longest river, crossing the Anti-Atlas.
Stop for lunch near Ouarzazate and cross the High Atlas to arrive in Marrakech in the evening.
