8 days Morocco tour from Fes

    Day 1: Welcome to Fes

Arrive in Fes, Morocco’s spiritual and cultural capital. Your driver transfers you to a traditional riad in the medina; depending on your arrival time, take a first stroll through the old city. Overnight in Fes.

Day 2: Explore Fes with a Local Guide

Explore Fes with a local guide: the medieval medina of Fes el-Bali, the Chouara tanneries, the Al-Qarawiyyin university and the Bou Inania Madrasa, winding through one of the world’s largest car-free old cities. Overnight in Fes.

Day 3: Fes – Ifrane – Cedar Forest – Ziz Valley – Merzouga

Head south through the Middle Atlas, stopping in the alpine town of Ifrane and the cedar forest near Azrou, home to Barbary macaques. Follow the palm-lined Ziz Valley to Merzouga, then ride a camel into the Erg Chebbi dunes for sunset, dinner and a night in a desert camp with Berber music.

    Day 4: Explore Merzouga Desert

Spend the day discovering the desert by 4×4: the oasis of Hassi Labied, the village of Khamlia with its Gnawa music, and the dunes and nomad camps of Erg Chebbi. Meet a nomad family for mint tea before a second night near the desert.

Day 5: Merzouga – Todra Gorge – Dades Valley

After sunrise over the dunes and breakfast, travel via Rissani and the dramatic Todra Gorge, with its towering canyon walls, to the Dades Valley for dinner and an overnight stay among its rock formations.

Day 6: Dades Valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech

Drive through the Valley of Roses to Ouarzazate and the UNESCO kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a film-famous fortified village, then cross the High Atlas over the Tizi n’Tichka Pass to Marrakech. Overnight in Marrakech.

Day 7: Explore Marrakech with a Local Guide

Explore Marrakech with a local guide: the Koutoubia Mosque, the Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs and the Menara Garden, followed by the lively souks and the Jemaa el-Fna square. Overnight in Marrakech.
