    Day 1: Tangier City Exploration

    Arrive in Tangier, the gateway between Africa and Europe on the Strait of Gibraltar. Meet your driver and, if time allows, explore the kasbah, the medina and the seafront. Overnight in Tangier.

    Day 2: Tangier – Chefchaouen

    Drive south from Tangier into the Rif Mountains to the famous blue town of Chefchaouen, with the afternoon free to wander its blue lanes. Overnight in Chefchaouen.

    Day 3: Chefchaouen Sightseeing

    Enjoy a free day in Chefchaouen, wandering its blue lanes, browsing local crafts and relaxing in the mountain air at your own pace. Overnight in Chefchaouen.

    Day 4: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fes

    Travel south to the Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, then visit the imperial city of Meknes with its monumental gates before continuing to Fes for the night.

    Day 5: Fes Sightseeing with a Local Guide

    Spend the day exploring Fes with a local guide. Wander the medieval medina of Fes el-Bali, visit the Al-Qarawiyyin university, the Bou Inania Madrasa and the famous tanneries, and discover the craft workshops of one of the world’s great old cities. Overnight in Fes.

    Day 6: Fes – Ifrane – Azrou – Midelt – Erfoud – Merzouga

    Head south through the Middle Atlas, stopping in the alpine town of Ifrane and the cedar forest near Azrou, home to Barbary macaques. Follow the palm-lined Ziz Valley to Merzouga, then ride a camel into the Erg Chebbi dunes for sunset, dinner and a night in a desert camp with Berber music.

    Day 7: Merzouga Desert Sightseeing

    Spend the day discovering the desert by 4×4: the oasis of Hassi Labied, the village of Khamlia with its Gnawa music, and the dunes and nomad camps of Erg Chebbi. Meet a nomad family for mint tea before a second night near the desert.

    Day 8: Merzouga – Rissani – Todra Gorge – Dades Valley

    After sunrise over the dunes and breakfast, travel via Rissani and the dramatic Todra Gorge, with its towering canyon walls, to the Dades Valley for dinner and an overnight stay among its rock formations.

    Day 9: Dades Valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech

    Drive through the Valley of Roses to Ouarzazate and the UNESCO kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a film-famous fortified village, then cross the High Atlas over the Tizi n’Tichka Pass to Marrakech. Overnight in Marrakech.

    Day 10: Marrakech Sightseeing with a Local Guide

    Explore Marrakech with a local guide: the Koutoubia Mosque, the Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs and the Majorelle Garden, followed by the lively souks and the Jemaa el-Fna square. Overnight in Marrakech.

    Day 11: Marrakech – Essaouira

    Drive west to the Atlantic coast and the windswept port town of Essaouira, with its ramparts, fishing harbour and relaxed medina. Overnight in Essaouira.
